In Acts 2:38 we find that on the first day of the existence of God’s church, those who believed, repented, and were baptized were saved. We also see in Acts 2:47 that those who were saved were added to the church by the Lord himself, thus, when one became a Christian, he/she automatically became a member of Christ’s church therefore, we cannot demand of people anything beyond their simple submission to Jesus.
Grace! We believe in the grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and understand that we contribute nothing to the purchase price of our salvation (John 3:16). Jesus has in fact paid for our sins and this payment is truly a free gift but it is a gift that is conditionally received:
One must hear the Gospel (Romans 10:17)
One must believe (Hebrews 11:6)
One must confess Jesus as Lord (Matthew 10:32 & Romans 10:9-10)
One must repent of past sins (Acts 17:30)
One must be baptized (Acts 2:38)
